Sightadel

Comparison

Nine vendors,
the same criteria.

As of 8 October 2026. Each cell contains only what was publicly stated on the respective vendor’s website on that day. Where nothing was stated, it says ‘not publicly stated’ – not ‘no’.

Method

How this table was compiled

For each vendor, we looked for the same points on its own website: frameworks, headquarters, hosting, prices, licensing model, access for auditors, Trust Center, integrations, languages and whether consulting is part of the offering. Information from comparison portals, review sites or press reports was not used.

‘Not publicly stated’ is not a judgement. It means that we did not find the information on the website – not that the feature does not exist. Figures such as ‘400+’ are the vendors’ own statements, which we have not counted ourselves.

If you would like to correct a row, write to us via the contact form. We check the source, change the row and note the date. Products change faster than comparison pages: check with the vendor before you decide.

What is behind the software

Headquarters, hosting, prices and how auditors are handled often matter more than individual features. On narrow screens, you can swipe the table sideways.

European sovereignty

The only vendor in this comparison that stays entirely in Germany.

Other vendors meet individual points, such as a head office in Germany or a data centre in Frankfurt. Sightadel is the only one of the nine vendors to meet all of them at once: company, development, operation and hosting are in Germany, with a German data centre operator. Your compliance data is therefore subject to German and European law and does not sit with a US hyperscaler.

Basis: public information from all nine vendors, as of 8 October 2026.

An honest comparison

Where the other vendor is the better choice

No vendor suits every company. So for each one, we state what it is better suited to than we are – based on its own information.

Vanta

founded 2018, remote-first

The broadest framework list in the field and, with 400+ integrations, the strongest automation. EU data can be stored in Frankfurt with AWS on request. The better choice if SOC 2 for US customers is the priority and as many tools as possible should supply evidence automatically.

Sightadel as a Vanta alternative →

Drata

founded 2020, USA

With the Audit Alliance, the largest auditor network in this overview; according to Drata, over 80% of customers find their auditor through Drata. The higher tiers include all available frameworks. The better choice if you want to find your auditor through the platform.

Sightadel as a Drata alternative →

Secureframe

founded 2020, USA

36 frameworks, including BSI C5 and ISO 9001, plus, according to the vendor, over 30 in-house compliance experts and former auditors. Hosting in the US or in London. The better choice if you want close support from former auditors.

Sightadel as a Secureframe alternative →

DataGuard

Munich, founded 2018

Here, consulting is the core: experts accompany the software, with data protection and information security at the centre. DORA, BSI C5 and ISO 9001 are not mentioned. The better choice if you mainly want to buy in consulting rather than run a platform yourself.

Sightadel as a DataGuard alternative →

Secfix

founded 2021

A broad framework list including ISO 27701 and ISO 27018, 200+ integrations and an Audit Hub for German- and English-speaking auditors. BSI C5 is not mentioned. The better choice if many technical integrations and a multilingual team matter.

Sightadel as a Secfix alternative →

Kertos

Munich, founded 2021

BSI C5 with an ISAE 3000 audit, an external data protection officer or information security officer in the packages, read-only auditor access in all packages. DORA and ISO 9001 are not mentioned. The better choice if day-to-day GDPR operations, including the appointed officer, are the priority.

Sightadel as a Kertos alternative →

SECJUR

Hamburg, since 2018

Many management systems under one roof, including whistleblower protection, anti-money laundering and the Swiss and Austrian regulations, plus fixed-price consulting. The better choice if, alongside ISMS and data protection, you also need a whistleblowing system and DACH-specific rules covered.

Sightadel as a SECJUR alternative →

Venvera

Sofia, operator since 2018

Public prices per organisation with unlimited users, 21 frameworks extending to non-European regulations and a register of information for DORA. The better choice if many users are to collaborate or you need regulations from outside Europe.

Sightadel as a Venvera alternative →

What is different about us

A few points that follow from the table – and that we consider decisive.

A price list per framework

Among the nine vendors, Sightadel is the only one with a public price list per framework; for nine of our twelve frameworks the monthly price is on the website, the other three are available on request. If you only need to demonstrate NIS2 compliance, you license NIS2 – not a bundle containing regulations you will never need.

Audits without commission

Sightadel does not certify. You choose an independent auditor from the partner network in the app or invite your own body. No commission is paid for audits, neither to us nor to partners. More about auditors

Guided, with suggestions

Assessments guide you through the requirements control by control. The AI suggests content from what you have already entered and from industry templates drawn from many years of consulting and certification experience. You accept, change or add to it – the decisions the standard requires of you stay with you. Guided assessments

Consultants when it matters

For important questions and tricky cases, you add real consultants as a package in the app. You can simply invite your own external consultants to your account. Consultants

Developed and hosted in Germany

Sightadel is developed by neonotu GmbH in Munich and runs in Germany. Every customer receives a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. Security

Limits

What we explicitly do not claim

  • ‘Hosted in Germany’ is not a unique selling point. Vanta offers an EU region in Frankfurt, Kertos names AWS in Germany, and SECJUR also names hosting in Germany. The difference lies with the operator: we run Sightadel with a German data centre operator.
  • We are behind on the number of integrations. Vanta names 400+, Secureframe 300+, Secfix 200+. Sightadel connects the systems in which most data at SMEs is held: Jira, Confluence, Zendesk, Microsoft Azure, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Salesforce. We connect further systems quickly on request. We do not currently offer an open API for customers.
  • We have fewer frameworks than the large US vendors. Twelve plus custom ones, compared with 30 or more at Vanta, Drata and Secureframe. We do not offer TISAX. If you need FedRAMP, CMMC or HIPAA, we are not the right choice.
  • We do not certify. Under ISO/IEC 17021, a certification body may not provide consulting to the same organisation. That is why you choose your body freely.

Approaches compared

Sightadel, Excel or consulting alone?

Many companies do not compare software with software, but software with what they do today: spreadsheets and folders, or a consultancy that carries the project. A qualitative assessment, without figures that would not hold true for your company.

CriterionSightadelExcel and foldersConsulting alone
Time requiredGuided assessments control by control, templates as a starting point. The effort goes into thinking about your own company, not into building spreadsheets.First the structure has to be built: copying controls, creating columns, maintaining references. Every change to the standard means manual rework.A quick start, because the experience comes with it. Ongoing maintenance, however, stays in-house or has to be bought in again every year.
Cost transparencyMonthly price per framework published, consulting available as a package in the app. You pay for the audit directly to the auditor. No licence, but hidden costs in working time. How much usually only becomes clear shortly before the audit.Day rates are known, the total effort rarely is. Change orders are common when the scope grows.
Up-to-date evidenceEvery piece of evidence has a version and an expiry date. Anything outdated appears as an issue on the dashboard.Files are scattered across folders and mailboxes. Usually only the person who created a piece of evidence knows whether it is still valid.Up to date at the end of the project. After that, it depends on whether someone in the company takes over maintenance.
Audit readinessThe Security Score and open issues show at any time what is missing. The auditor reviews directly in the system, comments and never deletes. The search begins before the audit. The auditor receives exports and folders by e-mail.Well prepared for the audit date, with the risk that the system falls asleep between two audits.
DependencyData can be exported; your own consultants and auditors can be invited to the account. Minimum term one year.Dependent on a few people and their spreadsheet logic. If someone drops out, the knowledge is gone.Dependent on the consultancy, its templates and its availability.

When Excel is enough

For a very small team with a single regulation, no certification goal and one person who maintains the spreadsheet permanently, a well-built spreadsheet can be enough. As soon as a second framework, an external audit or several people are involved, the maintenance effort grows faster than the benefit.

Software and consulting are not mutually exclusive

The best combination is often both: a platform in which the system is actually lived, and consultants for the questions where experience counts. In Sightadel, you add consulting as a package or invite your own consultants – the knowledge stays in the system when the project ends.

Questions and answers

Questions about the comparison

More in our FAQ or directly via our contact form.

Why does ‘not publicly stated’ appear so often?

Because we only enter what was on the vendor’s website on the reference date. If information is missing there, that does not mean the feature does not exist. If in doubt, ask the vendor.

How often is the comparison updated?

Whenever we learn of a change, and regularly on our own initiative. The date of the last review is shown at the top of the page.

I represent one of the vendors. How do I correct a row?

Write to us via the contact form and name the source on your website. We will check it, change the row and note the date.

Is Sightadel the best choice for everyone?

No. If you need TISAX, expect a very large number of technical integrations or have to demonstrate compliance with US regulations such as FedRAMP or HIPAA, you are better served by another vendor. The sections above show which vendor is stronger for what.
