Sightadel

Consultants

Software for the journey.
People for the difficult parts.

Sightadel takes a lot of work off your hands. But some questions no template can answer: how do I define the scope? Will this exclusion hold up? For those, real consultants are at your side – with many years of experience in consulting and certification.

What you need us for

Typical points where one conversation saves weeks.

Defining the scope

Does the subsidiary belong in it? What about the external data centre? A wrong decision here costs months later on.

Setting the risk methodology

The standard does not prescribe a method, but it does require comparable results. A short conversation saves many iterations.

Justifying exclusions

Excluding a control is allowed – without a sound justification, it becomes a nonconformity in the audit.

Clarifying whether you are in scope

Does your company fall under NIS2 or DORA? The answer depends on details of sector, size and group structure.

Audit findings

A nonconformity is not the end of the world. How to fix and document it properly is more of a specialist question.

Combining several frameworks

How much of your ISO 27001 system carries over to NIS2 or GDPR depends on how it is built. That can be clarified quickly together.

How consulting works

Question at the control. Answer in the same place.

No appointments for small things, no e-mail chains nobody can find later. Consulting happens where the work is – and stays documented there.

  1. 1

    Question at the control

You are working on a control and get stuck. With one click, you ask your question right there – the consultant sees the control, your answer so far and the linked evidence.

  2. 2

    Answer with reasoning

The consultant answers in the same place, explains what matters and links a template or checklist if needed. For bigger topics, they suggest a call.

  3. 3

    You decide and document

You take what fits and write your answer. Question, answer and decision stay at the control and in the activity log – traceable for colleagues and the auditor.

When a consultant pays off

Not for every question. For the ones that matter most.

You answer most controls yourself with guiding questions and industry templates. A consultant pays off where a decision shapes the whole system or where you do not want any surprises in the audit.

At the start, it is about setting the course: scope, risk methodology, roles. Start cleanly here and you will not have to rebuild later. A short review by someone who has seen many systems is time well spent.

Midway through, the cases come up that are in no template: a service provider based outside the EU, a subsidiary with its own IT, a process that is only half documented. A second opinion helps more than lengthy searching.

Before the audit, an outside look at the Statement of Applicability, risk assessment and internal audit is worthwhile. The consultant does not audit like an auditor, but tells you where an auditor is likely to ask questions.

With several frameworks, the question is how much can be carried over. A consultant quickly sees which evidence counts twice and where a regulation brings its own requirements, such as reporting channels or registers.

After the audit, it is about findings: how do I fix a nonconformity so that the cause is removed and not just the symptom? A short conversation clears that up too.

Consulting packages

You add consulting in the app.

Sightadel works without consulting. If you want support, you book a package directly in the app. You see scope and prices there – we deliberately do not list them on this website, because the packages differ by framework and need.

  • Booked directly in the app, not through a separate quote.
  • You see scope and prices in the app before booking.
  • Packages can be added at any time – even in the middle of a project.
  • You decide whether and how much consulting you need.

Consultant or auditor

Two roles that are never in the same hands.

Both know the standard. But they have opposite tasks – and that is intentional. Only someone who was not involved in building the system can assess it independently.

The consultant

  • Helps with building the system and with decisions
  • Proposes solutions and explains the standard
  • Works on your side, in your interest
  • Can work and comment in Sightadel
  • Comes from Sightadel, from the partner network or is your own

The auditor

  • Checks whether your system meets the requirements
  • Does not propose solutions but records findings
  • Is independent and belongs to an accredited body
  • Comments in Sightadel and edits only after approval, never deletes
  • Must not have advised you beforehand (ISO/IEC 17021)

Division of labour

The software guides. The consultant clarifies. You decide.

The industry templates in Sightadel come from exactly this consulting and certification practice. Where experience alone is not enough, because it is about your company, you talk to a person.

Your own consultant

Already have a consultant? All the better.

External consultants get their own role in Sightadel and work directly in the system – instead of sending documents back and forth by e-mail. Consultants can also join our partner network free of charge.

You do not have to choose: your own consultant supports the project, and for a specialist question, say on DORA or the EU AI Act, you also bring in a consultant from the partner network or a package from us. Everyone works in the same account, each with their own role.

You see the partner network directly in the app. There you choose independent consultants by framework and region and contact them directly. You sign the contract with the consultant yourself.

  • One account for all clients
  • Dedicated “Consultant (external)” role per client
  • Comments directly on controls and evidence
  • Consulting and auditing never from the same hands – the audit stays independent

Questions and answers

Questions about consulting

More in our FAQ or directly via our contact form.

How much does consulting cost?

You add consulting in packages – directly in the app. You see scope and prices there. You decide how much you need.

Can I choose a consultant?

Yes. In the app, you have access to our partner network of independent consultants and auditors. You simply invite your own external consultants into your account.

Do I still need a consultant with Sightadel at all?

For most of the work, no: structure, templates and AI support go a long way. For important decisions and tricky cases, an experienced person is still irreplaceable – which is why we offer one.

Do the consultants write my documents?

No. They answer questions, review decisions and point out options. You describe what makes your company what it is – that is the only way the system holds up in the audit and in daily practice.

Can my current consultant work with Sightadel?

Yes. External consultants get their own role and work directly in the system. Through our partner network, customers can also find consultants in the app.

Can the consultants also carry out the audit?

No. Whoever advises does not audit – ISO/IEC 17021 requires this. The audit is carried out by an independent, accredited auditor.

How quickly will I get an answer?

That depends on the question and the package. You can ask your question at any time at the control you are working on. The answer appears in the same place, so you do not have to look for it.

Are questions and answers kept?

Yes. Question, answer and linked files stay at the control and appear in the activity log. So even a new colleague can see later why a decision was made.

Is on-site consulting available?

Consulting in Sightadel takes place in the app, at the control in question. If you need someone on site, for example for a risk assessment workshop, you will find consultants in the partner network in the app and can arrange it with them directly.

Does consulting provide legal certainty?

No. Our consultants know standards and audit practice, but they do not give legal advice. For questions that need a legally binding answer, such as whether you are in scope in a borderline case, consult a law firm.

What should I prepare before asking a question?

Answer the control as far as you can and note where you are unsure. The more specific the starting point, the more specific the answer. The consultant sees linked evidence automatically.

Can a consultant also train my colleagues?

Short explanations at the control, yes. For training and workshops in your company, you will find consultants in the partner network in the app and agree scope and dates with them directly.

Who are Sightadel’s consultants?

People with many years of experience in consulting and certification, from exactly the practice the industry templates come from. They know the questions auditors ask and the points where projects typically get stuck.

Can I involve several consultants at once?

Yes. Your own consultant, a consultant from the partner network and a package from us are not mutually exclusive. Each works with their own role in the same account, and the activity log shows who contributed what.

Do I have to book a package right at the start?

No. You can start without consulting and only add a package when a question comes up. It is not a requirement during the 14-day free trial either.

Try it yourself first. You can ask questions at any time.

14 days, full access, no payment details. Everything you set up carries over into the paid plan.
